A snippet from The Kings of the New World: Chapter 25 – The Zombie Apocalypse
Brook looked at the tower and clasped his hands. A ring on either hand revealed a dim glow from a ruby gemstone. Brook closed his eyes and both gems started to glow intensely, emanating bright shades of red and pink light. The storm above crackled and rumbled fiercely, the swirl grew faster. As the winds picked up, debris could be seen flying through the streets below, people struggled to stay on their feet, running to take cover.
The rings flooded the room with red light, tinting their faces and clothes. Brook opened his eyes, looking to where the glass observation deck should be above the clouds. A series of bright intermittent and violent white flashes appeared in the clouds above the tower. The occasional yellowy-orange flash hinted at the destruction happening inside. Suddenly, broken metal and glass fell from the clouds. Large broken structures dropped towards the warehouse below. Smaller fragments crashed and smashed on the rooftop, where larger parts punched through into the building below.
