A snippet from The Kings of the New World: Chapter 7 – The Hog and Blackmouth

Major Massa Blackmouth stood staring at the guards and their contraption. He wasn’t the type of person who needed to understand every little detail in life, so he didn’t care what the countless operators were doing around the machine. He was a simple warrior, a very talented simple warrior. His job was to fight and he was good at it.

His facial markings were pulsing a deep purple, exposing his frustration. Several thin purple inked lines curved down from his brow to his left cheek before being cut off by a single line that ran behind his ear. The right side of his face was scarred, a single mark that ran down from his cheek to his chin. He could have got rid of this a long time ago, it was a simple Atlantican right to remove unsightly markings on one’s face. But this particular scar served a purpose; it added to his already menacing demeanour and it helped remind him to not be so careless as the day he earned it.
